Algerian FM Attaf Engages in Talks with US Secretary of State Blinken on Red Sea and Gaza Developments

ALGIERS- Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received a phone call from U.S. Secretary of State Mr. Anthony Blinken on Saturday, as announced by the ministry in a statement.
The ministry stated that the call provided an opportunity for an exchange of views and in-depth consultations on various issues on the agenda of the Security Council for the month. These included matters related to “the security and safety of navigation in the Red Sea” and “the situation in the besieged Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need to expedite the creation of necessary conditions for a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue based on the principle of two states.”
The discussions also addressed the issue of Western Sahara and explored avenues to enhance U.S. involvement in supporting the political process led by the United Nations.
