Algiers, Algeria | May 19, 2024 — On Sunday evening, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf hosted a meeting with Paul Solar, the Special Envoy of the French President for Libya. The encounter, as outlined in a communiqué from the ministry, provided an opportunity for both officials to discuss the evolving situation in Libya, focusing on identifying potential political solutions to the crises that threaten peace and stability in the region, with a pronounced emphasis on avoiding tensions and external interferences.

They stressed the importance of a Libyan-led and Libyan-owned process for resolving the conflict, ensuring that any solution is inclusive and respects Libya’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He underscored Algeria’s long-standing policy of non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations and its commitment to supporting political dialogue and reconciliation efforts.
