Algerian FM Attaf Receives Omani Counterpart: Exchange of Views, Analysis on Key Current Issues

Algiers- Algeria, May 9, 2024 – Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, welcomed his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, at the ministry headquarters on Thursday. Al Busaidi is on a visit to Algeria as a special envoy carrying a message from His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, according to a statement from the ministry.
During the meeting, the ministers “reviewed the fraternal relations and cooperation between the two sisterly countries and brotherly peoples, as well as the prospects for their enhancement and promotion to the highest levels, in order to capitalize on the considerable capacities of both countries within the framework of a mutually beneficial economic partnership,” the statement noted.
The occasion also provided an opportunity for both parties to “exchange views and analysis on key current issues at both the regional and international levels, particularly the dangerous developments affecting the central cause of the Arab-Muslim nation, namely the Palestinian cause,” the statement continued.
Algeria and Oman enjoy longstanding fraternal ties, and discussions between the two ministers underscored the importance of further strengthening cooperation in various fields for the mutual benefit of both nations.
