Algiers- Algeria, May 15, 2024 – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, is set to represent President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the 33rd session of the Arab League Summit in Manama, Bahrain. This summit, scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, will see Attaf’s participation as the personal envoy of President Tebboune, as conveyed by a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
After fulfilling his diplomatic mission in the Sultanate of Oman, where he served as a special envoy to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Attaf returned to Manama to attend the Arab League Council summit. His role as a representative of the President underscores Algeria’s commitment to engaging actively in regional affairs and contributing to Arab League deliberations.
Upon his arrival at Manama Airport, Attaf was accorded a special reception by Bahraini royal protocols, indicating the significance of his participation in the summit.
The agenda of the Arab Summit in Manama is expected to center on critical issues concerning Arab national security, with particular emphasis on the Palestinian cause. Additionally, discussions will focus on efforts to strengthen and advance joint Arab initiatives across political, economic, social, and cultural domains.
During the summit proceedings, Attaf will deliver a speech on behalf of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, articulating Algeria’s perspectives and contributions to the deliberations. This speech is anticipated to address key regional challenges and opportunities, reaffirming Algeria’s commitment to Arab solidarity and cooperation.
