ALGIERS- In a recent radio interview, Mr. Salah Bey Aboud, the communication officer of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), shed light on the current status of the national team’s training camp in Togo, assuring the public of its excellent conditions.
“The camp is progressing under very favorable conditions across all aspects, including training, physical preparation, and accommodation. The program is being executed as planned,” Mr. Aboud confirmed.
The spokesperson addressed concerns regarding striker Amine Gouiri, who departed the camp due to a knee injury. Mr. Aboud urged everyone to move past the Gouiri incident and shift their focus to the players selected for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN): “The absence of Gouiri does not warrant all this controversy. We need to turn this page and concentrate on preparing for this competition,” he emphasized.
The Algerian national team is currently gearing up for the upcoming CAN 2023, and Mr. Aboud’s statements aimed to reassure supporters about the overall positive atmosphere within the camp. The FAF remains committed to ensuring that the players undergo optimal training and preparation leading up to the prestigious continental competition.
