Algerian Foreign Minister Attaf Receives Second Call from Blinken in Less Than Two Weeks

ALGIERS- Ahmed Attaf, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a second telephone call from the United States Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, on Wednesday, marking the continuation of diplomatic engagements between the two nations.
In a statement released by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the communication is described as part of the regular consultations agreed upon by both ministers to address key international and regional issues of mutual interest.
Discussions during the call primarily focused on the evolving situation in the Gaza Strip and the diplomatic efforts undertaken by Algeria at the United Nations Security Council to activate interim measures issued by the International Court of Justice.
It is noteworthy that the Algerian Foreign Minister had previously received a call from his American counterpart on February 6, discussing similar developments concerning the situation in Gaza.
During both exchanges, emphasis was placed on “the draft resolution submitted by Algeria to the Security Council, on the instruction of the President of the Republic, with the aim of giving enforceable effect to the International Court of Justice’s order on interim measures required against the Zionist occupation,” the ministry clarified in its statement.
