Algerian Health Minister Saihi Meets with Egyptian Ambassador

Algiers, Algeria | July 2nd 2024 — Algerian Minister of Health, Abdelhak Saihi, received the Egyptian Ambassador to Algeria, Mokhtar Gamil Tawfik Warida, on Tuesday, according to a communiqué from the Ministry of Health.

Strengthening Bilateral Healthcare Cooperation

During the meeting, both parties emphasized the determination of their respective governments to establish robust partnership and cooperation, particularly in the management of healthcare facilities, medical tourism, and various health-related fields.

Invitation to Global Conference

The Egyptian Ambassador extended an invitation to Minister Saihi from his Egyptian counterpart, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, to participate in the upcoming World Conference on Population, Health, and Development, scheduled for October.

Vision for Joint Arab Initiatives

Minister Saihi highlighted the strong, cooperative relations between Algeria and Egypt, underscoring the mutual benefits of their collaboration and the concerted efforts to address common challenges. He expressed his aspiration for the creation of the Arab Medicines Agency, a project aimed at ensuring medication security for all Arab nations.

Continued Coordination

Both sides agreed to continue coordinating efforts to elevate their bilateral relations to the highest level, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing their healthcare systems and broader cooperative initiatives.
