ALGIERS- The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, held a meeting with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, on Thursday. This meeting took place on the sidelines of their participation in the emergency special session of the General Assembly on the Palestinian issue, held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

As per the statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both parties emphasized the imperative of maintaining political and diplomatic pressure to compel the United Nations to fulfill its responsibilities in safeguarding the Palestinian people living under occupation. Additionally, they called for an immediate cessation of the Zionist aggression targeting the Gaza Strip.

Furthermore, they underscored the necessity of international endeavors aimed at revitalizing the peace process in the Middle East. These efforts are crucial in enabling the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
