Algiers- Algeria, May 13, 2024 – Ahmed Attaf, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, delegated by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, arrived in Manama, Bahrain, on Monday afternoon to participate in the preparatory meeting for the 33rd ordinary session of the Arab Summit scheduled for May 16 in the Kingdom of Bahrain, a sisterly country, according to a statement from the ministry.
The agenda of the preparatory meeting will focus on “drafting resolutions on topics to be discussed at the Summit, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, as well as other subjects related to Arab national security and common Arab action in its political, diplomatic, economic, social, and cultural dimensions,” the statement said.
In addition to the ministerial discussions, Mr. Attaf will hold bilateral meetings with several of his counterparts from sisterly Arab countries, the statement added.
This participation underscores Algeria’s active role in Arab diplomatic affairs and its commitment to addressing pressing regional issues, particularly the Palestinian cause, within the framework of Arab unity and cooperation. As a key player in Arab geopolitics, Algeria’s engagement in these discussions contributes to fostering solidarity and stability in the region.
