Algerian Minister Zitouni Meets President of Qatar Chamber Board: Strengthening Economic and Trade Cooperation

Algiers- Algeria, May 7, 2024 – Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, held a meeting on Monday in Algiers with Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jassim Al Thani, President of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Chamber, aiming to enhance economic cooperation between Algeria and Qatar and explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral relations in various commercial sectors.
Conducted at the ministry headquarters and attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to Algeria, Abdulaziz Bin Ali Ahmed Al-Naama, the meeting primarily focused on “assessing potential areas for joint cooperation in export and investment, emphasizing the significance of bolstering trade ties between the two nations, and sharing expertise in economic and trade domains,” according to an official statement.
Mr. Zitouni expressed contentment with “the robust bilateral relations between the two fraternal countries,” underscoring “the significance of Qatari investments currently operational in Algeria across various sectors and the necessity of their expansion.”
In response, the President of the Qatar Chamber Board affirmed “Qatar’s readiness to deepen cooperation, explore partnership opportunities, and broaden Qatari investments,” while stating that “Algeria holds a strategic position for Qatar,” the statement outlined.
