ALGIERS- The Ambassador of the Republic of Niger to Algeria, Mr. Aminou Malam Manzo, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) headquarters on Thursday, where he met with Ms. Selma Malika Haddadi, the Director-General for Africa.

According to a statement issued by the MAE on Saturday, the primary focus of the meeting was on enhancing cooperation between the two countries regarding the repatriation of Nigerien nationals residing irregularly in Algeria.

The ministry acknowledged that the Nigerien authorities have made certain judgments regarding this cooperation, which Algeria deemed

unfounded.

Emphasizing the importance of bilateral dialogue, the statement reiterated that there exists a dedicated bilateral framework for addressing this issue, and the Ambassador of Niger was reminded of its existence.

Moreover, he was informed that this framework should remain the preferred platform for discussing and processing all data and developments related to the matter.

Additionally, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to the fundamental principles of good neighborliness and expressed its willingness to continue coordinating with Niger on migration issues and any other matters, emphasizing mutual respect and cooperation based on shared values of trust and solidarity.
