Algiers, Algeria | August 16th, 2024 — VMS Industrie, an Algerian company specializing in the production of motorcycles, scooters, and tricycles, is set to make its debut in the Burkinabè market. Based in Béjaïa, VMS Industrie recently hosted a delegation from Burkina Faso as part of its strategic expansion into Africa.
The visit, which took place from August 6 to 9, 2024, featured productive discussions between the two parties. The Burkinabè delegation included Samuel Kalkoundo, Special Advisor to the President of Burkina Faso on Social Cohesion and National Reconciliation; Eli Beliwindé Karim, Head of Studies at the National Bureau of Major Projects; and Drissa Sawadogo, Special Advisor to the President of Burkina Faso on Private Sector Employment and head of the delegation.
According to VMS Industrie, the meeting was pivotal in exploring industrial and commercial cooperation. The visit highlighted the significance of South-South cooperation and the mutual commitment to promoting Algerian products and fostering economic and social development.
A key outcome of the visit was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between VMS Industrie and the Burkinabè delegation. This agreement marks the beginning of a fruitful collaboration aimed at exchanging expertise and technologies to bolster the development of the mechanical industry.
The cooperation agreement includes the export and marketing of VMS Industrie products in Burkina Faso, such as motorcycles, tricycles, quads, and three-wheeled utility vehicles. It also encompasses technical assistance for implementing export and distribution strategies tailored to the Burkinabè market and the broader West African and Sahel regions.
In addition to these commercial aspects, the agreement involves cooperation in training and employment promotion, contributing to Burkina Faso’s economic and social development. The delegation’s visit also included a tour of VMS Industrie’s facilities, including its Bouira unit, which specializes in mechanical welding, tricycle production, and units designed for people with disabilities, as well as the production sites in Oued Ghir and Toudja, and the Algiers showroom.
Founded in 2014, VMS Industrie is dedicated to the economic development of Algeria by creating job opportunities for young people and enhancing the country’s industrial sector. The company operates a network of over 80 agencies across Algeria and is committed to expanding its reach and impact in the international market.
