Algiers, Algeria | July 7th, 2024 — Al Baraa Bengrina, a Member of the People’s National Assembly and the son of the President of the El Bina Movement, recently held a meeting with his constituents to present his parliamentary achievements and discuss notable legislative successes and pressing issues.

In his speech, Bengrina praised President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for his dedication to empowering youth across various sectors, particularly in political domains. He expressed his firm support for President Tebboune, who has constitutionally enshrined the rights of young people to occupy high-ranking positions.

“These positions were historically monopolized by the affluent, but President Tebboune has rightfully restored these opportunities to the people,” Bengrina remarked. “Algeria is advancing with its youth, and we have diligently fought against the corrupt factions that have previously undermined our nation.”

Bengrina underscored his commitment to addressing the concerns of citizens, despite the persistent administrative challenges inherited from the previous regime. He highlighted ongoing legislative efforts aimed at dismantling these barriers.

He also pointed to the implementation of the anti-speculation law, which has played a crucial role in stabilizing prices during Ramadan.

In discussing the enhancement of popular neighborhoods, Bengrina mentioned collaborative initiatives with the Minister of the Interior to improve living conditions in these areas. This included the revocation of a detrimental directive from the governor that had adversely affected residents.

Expressing pride in his role as chair of the parliamentary defense committee, Bengrina commended the high professionalism of the Algerian military. He also called for sustained support for President Tebboune, who has given national significance to the Ghar Djebilet project and initiated various critical development projects.

Bengrina noted a significant shift in the use of official language, observing that prior to 2019, government officials, including prime ministers and the president, often addressed the public in French. “Thankfully, President Tebboune has aligned with the values of the people and mandated the use of the country’s official national languages in public addresses,” he noted.

Concluding the meeting, MP Bengrina attentively listened to the concerns of his constituents and responded to their questions in a cordial atmosphere, reinforcing the trust and rapport between the elected official and his electorate.
