Algiers, Algeria | November 13th, 2024 — The Algerian People’s National Assembly (APN) approved the highly anticipated 2025 Finance Bill on Wednesday during a plenary session. The session was chaired by APN Speaker Brahim Boughali and attended by Finance Minister Laaziz Faid, alongside other prominent government officials.

This landmark legislation signifies a forward-looking economic vision, with critical adjustments aimed at streamlining fiscal policies and catalyzing sustainable development across key sectors. The 2025 Finance Bill introduces reforms designed to enhance public revenue generation, optimize tax structures, and address national priorities, such as housing and transportation infrastructure.

It has set a reference price of $60 per barrel for crude oil for the period 2025-2027, while estimating a market price of $70 per barrel over the same timeframe. Economic growth is projected to reach 4.5% in both 2025 and 2026, with non-hydrocarbon growth anticipated to achieve a robust 5% in 2025.

Minister Laaziz Faid underscored the importance of this bill in reinforcing Algeria’s fiscal framework, stating that it aligns with the government’s overarching goal of economic diversification and resilience. The legislation reflects a commitment to maintaining budgetary discipline while promoting socio-economic progress through targeted investments.

The bill’s ratification comes amid intensified efforts to address structural inefficiencies, adapt to evolving economic demands, and meet the aspirations of Algerian citizens for improved public services and infrastructure. It stands as a cornerstone of Algeria’s financial strategy for the year ahead, paving the way for a resilient and inclusive economic future.
