From June 15 to September 15, 2025, restrictions will target new imports, utility vans, and large vehicles to ensure smoother operations during peak travel season.

Algiers, Algeria | April 26th, 2025 —  In a move designed to streamline operations and enhance passenger experience during the busy summer season, Algeria’s National Passenger Maritime Transport Company (ENTMV) announced on Friday a series of special measures impacting the ports of Algiers and Oran.

According to an official communiqué, from June 15 to September 15, 2025, the entry of certain categories of vehicles will be strictly prohibited through the ports of Algiers and Oran. Specifically, the entry ban applies to new vehicles or those less than three years old imported under the new regulations, utility vans (fourgons), and vehicles seating more than seven passengers.

However, in an effort to maintain flexibility for importers and travelers, ENTMV clarified that such vehicles will still be permitted to enter via the ports of Bejaïa, Skikda, and Annaba during the same period.

These precautionary restrictions are part of a broader governmental initiative to implement regulatory measures aimed at improving travel and port logistics during the high-traffic summer months, when thousands of families return to Algeria for their holidays.

To assist passengers affected by these new restrictions, ENTMV urged clients who have already booked their journeys to the ports of Algiers or Oran—and who wish to alter their itineraries or request a refund—to visit the nearest ENTMV commercial agency for assistance.
