Algerian Premier Larbaoui Represents Nation at 19th Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Kampala

ALGIERS- Today, the 19th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) commenced in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, with the theme “Enhancing Cooperation for Global Prosperity.” The summit witnesses the participation of the Prime Minister, Mr. Nadir Larbaoui, representing the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Uganda assumed the rotating presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement from Azerbaijan, marking the transition during the 19th summit in Kampala. The handover ceremony took place in the presence of heads of states and governments, including the Algerian representative, Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui

Before the official opening of the summit, a group photo was taken of the participating heads of states and governments. Subsequently, the outgoing President of NAM, Mr. Ilham Heydar Oglu Aliyev of Azerbaijan, delivered a speech, presenting a report on the organization’s activities from 2019 to 2024.
In this significant event, President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda was appointed as the Chair of the 19th NAM Summit, symbolizing the commencement of discussions among leaders on various global issues. The summit provides a platform for Algeria to reaffirm its commitment to actively contribute to the revitalization of NAM’s role in the current international landscape.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, reiterated Algeria’s dedication to advancing the NAM’s active role. He emphasized Algeria’s commitment to preserving the Movement’s interests, promoting its goals and initiatives, and actively engaging in the UN Security Council to safeguard the Movement’s objectives.
