ALGIERS- The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, held a telephone conversation with his Mauritanian counterpart, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, on Monday, as announced by the presidency in a statement.
“In today’s telephone conversation, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, spoke with his brother, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, President of the sisterly Islamic Republic of Mauritania,” the statement read.
The Mauritanian President to Visit Algeria Soon
According to the statement, during the discussion, the two Presidents addressed issues of mutual interest for both countries, as well as the upcoming visit of His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Al-Ghazouani to Algeria.
On this occasion, the statement added, the President of the Republic congratulated his Mauritanian counterpart on the selection of a candidate from the North African region to preside over the upcoming African Union summit. He emphasized that this choice honors the countries and peoples of the entire region and affirmed that Algeria will always stand by Mauritania to fulfill its noble tasks.
The exchange between President Tebboune and President Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani reflects the strong fraternal ties and shared commitment to cooperation between Algeria and Mauritania. It also underscores the significance of regional collaboration in advancing common interests and fostering solidarity within the African continent.
