Algerian President Tebboune Meets Notables and Civil Society Representatives in Khenchela

Algiers, Algeria | May 30, 2024 — President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria convened with local leaders and civil society representatives in Khenchela during his recent visit to the province, focusing on addressing developmental concerns and promoting equitable progress. The meeting, held at the provincial headquarters, featured the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, General of the Army Saïd Chanegriha, and a ministerial delegation accompanying the President.
During the session, President Tebboune actively engaged with the notables and civil society representatives, attentively listening to their proposals and concerns regarding state efforts to stimulate development in Khenchela. Discussions revolved around supporting initiatives aimed at fostering dynamic development within the province, aligning with the vision of building the New Algeria.
In his address, President Tebboune underscored the historical significance of Khenchela and expressed pride in visiting the province. He acknowledged its past lack of equitable access to development programs and emphasized his duty to prioritize Khenchela’s development as a tribute to the sacrifices of its martyrs and freedom fighters, including the symbolic martyr, Abbas Laghrour.
Earlier in the day, President Tebboune inaugurated and inspected various development projects in Khenchela, reaffirming his commitment to addressing the developmental needs and aspirations of its residents. His visit served as a demonstration of the government’s dedication to ensuring progress and prosperity reaches all regions of Algeria.
