ALGIERS– On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has once again affirmed Algeria’s steadfast commitment to supporting the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people. In a poignant message, President Tebboune reiterated the nation’s unwavering stance in advocating for the inalienable and non-negotiable rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders and United Nations resolutions.
“Algeria expresses its highest salutations to this unyielding people, resilient despite the horrific violations they endure and the desperate attempts to undermine their cause and dismantle the foundations upon which any viable solution can be built,” declared President Tebboune. He strongly condemned the “apartheid and genocidal crimes” perpetrated by the occupant on Palestinian lands.
This condemnation comes at a time when the international community and relevant United Nations bodies face a shameful and perilous failure to halt the war machine’s madness directed against a defenseless people. President Tebboune underscored the responsibility of advocates for justice and peace to redouble efforts and work towards upholding the principles and objectives of peace, the UN Charter, and ensuring the necessary protection for the Palestinian people to end the historical injustice they endure.
President Tebboune emphasized the urgent need to save the peace process, currently facing an unprecedented impasse. He believes that achieving this requires compelling the occupant to submit to international legitimacy, commit to respecting international law, and advancing the enhancement of legal and diplomatic achievements for the Palestinian people. This includes intensifying efforts to secure full Palestinian membership in the United Nations.
“On this occasion, I reiterate Algeria’s total rejection of any attempt to obliterate this just cause, whether through the imposition of a policy of fait accompli, where occupation seeks to undermine the identity of sacred Islamic and Christian values in the occupied territories, or by altering its demographic profile,” declared President Tebboune. He asserted that obscuring history and legitimacy through fictitious agreements will not alter the essence of the issue.
This resounding message from President Tebboune reflects Algeria’s unwavering commitment to advocating for justice, peace, and the fulfillment of the rightful aspirations of the Palestinian people on the international stage.
