Algiers, Algeria | September 3rd, 2024 —  The Algerian National Agency for Export Promotion (ALGEX) has unveiled two major exhibitions designed to elevate the international profile of Algerian products. Scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, and Johannesburg, South Africa, these events are set for October and November 2024, respectively, and represent a significant opportunity for Algerian businesses to broaden their global trade networks.

Doha Exhibition: October 22-27, 2024

The inaugural exhibition will be hosted in Doha from October 22 to October 27, 2024. This event is strategically planned to spotlight a diverse range of Algerian products and facilitate interactions between Algerian businesses and Qatari as well as regional buyers. ALGEX has strongly encouraged Algerian economic operators to seize this opportunity to showcase their offerings, assess international market potential, and establish new partnerships with potential buyers and distributors in the Gulf region. The Doha exhibition is expected to be a vital platform for expanding Algeria’s footprint in the Middle East and fostering valuable trade relationships.

Johannesburg Exhibition: November 20-25, 2024

Following the Doha event, the second exhibition will be held in Johannesburg from November 20 to November 25, 2024. This exhibition is poised to serve as a gateway for Algerian companies to enter the South African market and engage with the broader African continent. Participation in this event will enable Algerian firms to present their products to African buyers, cultivate new business connections, and explore trade and investment opportunities across the region. Johannesburg’s exhibition will be crucial in strengthening Algeria’s trade links within Africa and promoting its products to a wider audience.

Past Success and Future Prospects

ALGEX’s commitment to promoting Algerian products on the international stage was exemplified by the success of the 6th Algerian Products Fair held in Nouakchott, Mauritania, in May 2024. This event saw 183 exhibitors from various sectors and resulted in the signing of seven cooperation agreements between Algerian and Mauritanian businesses. These agreements spanned collaboration, exportation, and commercial representation, underscoring the growing interest in Algerian products and the potential for deeper economic integration within the region.

Invitation to Algerian Businesses

ALGEX has issued a call for Algerian businesses to actively engage in the upcoming exhibitions as a strategic move to enhance their international trade prospects. By participating in the exhibitions in Doha and Johannesburg, Algerian companies will gain significant exposure, forge new business relationships, and contribute to the growth of Algeria’s export sector.

The forthcoming exhibitions in Doha and Johannesburg mark pivotal steps in Algeria’s strategy to advance its global trade presence. These events will not only provide Algerian companies with valuable market access but also bolster the country’s economic ties with key international partners. As the exhibition dates approach, Algerian businesses are encouraged to prepare for these critical opportunities to display their innovations and extend their global reach.
