Algerian Red Crescent and Ooredoo Join Hands in Solidarity: Launch of Humanitarian Convoy for Fire-Affected Families

ALGIERS– In a display of unwavering commitment to social responsibility, “Ooredoo” has teamed up with the Algerian Red Crescent to launch a solidarity convoy, offering much-needed assistance to families affected by the devastating fires in the provinces of Bouira, Bejaia, and Jijel. The humanitarian effort was officially initiated on Thursday at the Disaster Rapid Response Center in the municipality of Sidi Rached, located in the wilaya of Tipaza, under the leadership of Dr. Ibtissem Hamlaoui, President of the Algerian Red Crescent.
Expressing deep sympathy for those impacted by the calamitous fires, Hakim Ben Yahia, Ooredoo’s Deputy Director in charge of Media Relations, emphasized the importance of solidarity during times of natural disasters. He stated, “Among the core values of our company is the culture of solidarity, which becomes even more evident during challenging times like these. Through this collaborative initiative with the Algerian Red Crescent, ‘Ooredoo’ aims to reaffirm its unwavering commitment to solidarity and extend support to the affected families.”
Dr. Ibtissem Hamalaoui, President of the Algerian Red Crescent, expressed her gratitude for the generosity and invaluable contribution of the “Ooredoo” comapny to this humanitarian endeavor. She remarked, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to ‘Ooredoo’ for their continuous support and longstanding partnership. The Red Crescent and ‘Ooredoo’ have collaborated on numerous initiatives aimed at benefiting the most vulnerable segments of our society, consistently standing together during times of natural disasters. Through this solidarity operation, we are determined to provide unconditional support to the residents of the states affected by the fires.”
The current initiative aligns with the partnership contract established between “Ooredoo” and the Algerian Red Crescent, which outlines the commitment of “Ooredoo” to accompany the Algerian Red Crescent in their noble missions for the betterment of Algerian society. Under this partnership, both entities have undertaken numerous humanitarian and charitable projects and developed a joint action program that contributes to the spirit of national solidarity.
It is worth mentioning that this recent humanitarian effort is not the first of its kind. In August 2022, “Ooredoo” launched a similar solidarity convoy, providing vital aid to those affected in the provinces of El Tarf and Souk Ahras. The convoy carried essential medical supplies, pharmaceutical products, and other necessities, including bedding and covers. Once again, “Ooredoo” demonstrates its active commitment to the well-being of Algerian society through such acts of citizenship and humanity.
The solidarity convoy launched by “Ooredoo” and the Algerian Red Crescent serves as a beacon of hope for the affected families, emphasizing the power of collective efforts to alleviate suffering during challenging times.
