Algerian Red Crescent Launches Vital Humanitarian Convoys to In Guezzam, Bordj Badji Mokhtar

Algiers, Algeria | September 28th, 2024 — In its steadfast role as a critical humanitarian arm of the Algerian state, the Algerian Red Crescent (ARC) has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to aiding vulnerable regions. On the night of Friday, September 27, 2024, the ARC dispatched two significant solidarity convoys to the remote southern provinces of In Guezzam and Bordj Badji Mokhtar. These convoys are part of a broader national effort to address urgent needs in these isolated areas, which face significant challenges related to healthcare access and basic services.

The convoys, composed of a range of essential supplies, include a vast array of medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and foodstuffs. These supplies are aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by local populations. The ARC’s initiative reflects a well-coordinated effort to deliver immediate relief while reinforcing Algeria’s long-standing humanitarian ethos.

Building on this critical aid, the ARC will begin dispatching medical personnel, including doctors, nurses, and trained volunteers, to the provinces starting Sunday. These teams will work in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health, as well as local authorities, to provide medical care and support the public health infrastructure in these areas.
