Algiers, Algeria | January 22nd, 2025 — The Algerian Red Crescent, under the leadership of its President, Ibtissem Hamlaoui, has allocated more than 300 tons of humanitarian aid for the Palestinian population in Gaza. The announcement was made during Hamlaoui’s working visit to Constantine on Wednesday, underscoring Algeria’s steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause.
Hamlaoui revealed that the organization’s national warehouses are stocked with a wide range of essential relief supplies, including food items, bedding, medical equipment, clothing, and tents, all designated for the besieged residents of Gaza. “These contributions are part of a nationwide solidarity campaign launched by the Algerian Red Crescent to collect in-kind donations exclusively, reaffirming Algeria’s unwavering support for Palestine and expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza as they endure the devastating consequences of the ongoing Zionist aggression,” she stated.
The planned distribution of aid hinges on the establishment of a secure air corridor to Gaza, a critical logistical step to ensure that the relief reaches those in dire need. Hamlaoui expressed optimism about facilitating the delivery once safe passage is secured.
In a related development, a partnership agreement was signed between the Algerian Red Crescent and the “Oasis” Association for Cancer Patients in Constantine, represented by its president, Ahmed Zemouli. The agreement aims to enhance joint efforts in providing support and assistance to cancer patients, emphasizing the importance of collaborative humanitarian initiatives.
This monumental effort by the Algerian Red Crescent mirrors Algeria’s broader stance on championing justice and providing humanitarian assistance to oppressed populations worldwide. It is a testament to the nation’s enduring solidarity with Palestine and its commitment to alleviating human suffering.
