Algerian Red Crescent President Hamlaoui Initiates Humanitarian Mission in Illizi Province

Illizi, Algeria – January 22, 2024- Dr. Ibtissem Hamlaoui, President of the Algerian Red Crescent, embarked on a two-day working visit to the Illizi Province on Monday, January 22, 2024. The visit commenced with Dr. Hamlaoui, accompanied by the provincial governor, Mr. Ahmed Belhadad, overseeing the launch of a humanitarian aid convoy destined for residents in the border areas.
The convoy, consisting of 1000 food parcels containing essential and widely consumed items, aims to provide much-needed support to the inhabitants of the border regions. Dr. Hamlaoui emphasized the importance of reaching out to those in need, especially in remote areas where access to basic necessities can be challenging.
In addition to the aid convoy, Dr. Hamlaoui and Governor Belhadad visited the surgical operations room at the “Tareqi Wantiemidi” public hospital in Illizi. They supervised the delivery of medical equipment, ensuring that the hospital is well-equipped to provide surgical services efficiently.
Furthermore, the Algerian Red Crescent President presided over the handover of medical supplies to the treatment hall named after the late martyr Belali Ghali in the Tine Tourha area of Illizi. The symbolic launch of medical equipment in the treatment hall at Tine Foui Tanakart (TFT) in Boudj Omar Idriss marked another significant moment during the visit.
As part of the humanitarian initiative, an agreement was reached to provide Illizi Province with a mobile kitchen, enhancing the capacity to cater to the nutritional needs of the local population. Additionally, a mobile medical clinic was made available to Illizi Province, ensuring healthcare accessibility to remote areas.
During the visit, the inspection of a sewing workshop facility took place, which is expected to employ over 66 widows in the Illizi region. Dr. Ibtissem Hamlaoui expressed her commitment to social initiatives that empower local communities and contribute to sustainable development.
The humanitarian mission led by Dr. Hamlaoui showcases the Algerian Red Crescent’s dedication to addressing the immediate needs of communities, especially in regions facing geographical and logistical challenges. The visit to Illizi Province underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in ensuring the well-being of vulnerable populations.
