Algerian Red Crescent Ready to Extend Vital Aid to Gaza Strip

ALGIERS– In an exclusive statement provided to “Dzair Tube,” the President of the Algerian Red Crescent, Ibtissem Hamlaoui, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to delivering crucial humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. In light of the dire circumstances resulting from the ongoing conflict, Hamlaoui disclosed that the assistance earmarked for our Palestinian brethren has been ready for deployment since the inception of this crisis.
Hamlaoui conveyed, during her exclusive conversation with “Dzair Tube,” that the Algerian Red Crescent has meticulously prepared a comprehensive aid package to alleviate the suffering of those affected in Gaza due to the relentless attacks by the Zionist military. This vital assistance includes provisions such as blankets, mattresses, tents, medicines, and essential food parcels.
Highlighting the Algerian Red Crescent’s unwavering commitment to respond swiftly to humanitarian emergencies, Hamlaoui emphasized that they maintain a substantial inventory of essential relief items, ready for deployment at a moment’s notice.
Furthermore, Hamlaoui underlined the organization’s active communication with various international humanitarian bodies, including the Red Crescent and International Red Cross chapters from numerous Arab nations and the Palestinian Red Crescent. This collaborative effort has enabled the Algerian Red Crescent to compile a comprehensive list of Gaza’s most pressing needs.
The head of the Algerian Red Crescent stressed the importance of ensuring that perishable items, such as medicines and food, reach the intended recipients in Gaza in an optimal condition. This challenge arises from the extreme temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in transit areas like Al-Arish and Rafah.
In response to these logistical challenges, Hamlaoui explained, “After consulting with the Palestinian Red Crescent, we have made the prudent decision to store this aid at our warehouse facilities until the Rafah crossing can be safely opened. This way, we can ensure that the aid will be shipped and delivered intact to the Gaza Strip when the circumstances permit.”
