Algiers, Algeria | June 23rd, 2024 — In a significant humanitarian effort, Governor Djamel Eddine Hashas of Beni Abbas welcomed Dr. Ibtissem Hamlaoui, President of the Algerian Red Crescent, at the provincial headquarters. This visit underscores the collaborative efforts between local government and humanitarian organizations to support Algeria’s most vulnerable populations.
The reception was attended by several notable figures, including President of the Provincial People’s Assembly Mr. Touhami Kandoussi, Member of the Council of the Nation Mr. Ben Jerad Abdeljalil, Republic Mediator Mr. Larabi Ahmed, Chief of Beni Abbas District Mr. Guandoussi Kaddour, Mayor of Beni Abbas Mr. Kabir Nadji, President of the Provincial Committee of the Algerian Red Crescent Mr. Abdelkarim Rahmani, and members of the provincial security committee.
During her visit, Dr. Hamlaoui launched a solidarity caravan aimed at aiding the most vulnerable populations in remote and border areas. This initiative, demonstrating the Algerian Red Crescent’s commitment to providing essential support, includes the distribution of 1,000 food parcels, an ambulance equipped with medical and paramedical supplies, and clothing items. These resources are specifically targeted to assist families and individuals in underserved regions, ensuring they receive the necessary aid to meet their basic needs.
This initiative is a significant step towards building a more inclusive and supportive society, where the needs of all citizens are met with compassion and efficiency.
