ALGIERS- Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ahmed Attaf and his Saudi counterpart Faycal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud agreed on concrete steps to strengthen the legal and structural framework for bilateral cooperation, in particular by completing the elaboration of texts that would enrich the legal arsenal that facilitates bilateral cooperation and the establishment of the Algerian-Saudi Higher Coordination Council with its various subsidiary bodies, as well as the encouragement of the exchange of official visits in order to explore and materialize promising opportunities for cooperation and partnership in the economic field.
This agreement was concluded during the reception, today at the ministry’s headquarters, by Ahmed Attaf of Faycal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, who is on an official visit to Algeria.
On this occasion, the two parties held one-on-one meetings before being extended to the delegations of the two countries during a working session that focused on the means of strengthening fraternal relations and cooperation between Algeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the prospects for overcoming the political and security crises that threaten the stability of many Arab countries.
The two sides also discussed the development of relations in the Maghreb region and efforts to end the crises in Sudan, Yemen, Libya, Syria, and Lebanon.
In a related context, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday.
During the meeting, they reviewed strong fraternal relations and ways to enhance them in various fields. They also discussed the most prominent developments in the regional and international arenas and the efforts made in this regard.
President Tebboune, on his part, conveyed his greetings and appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the Crown Prince, and the government and people of Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal met with his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf.
During the meeting, they reviewed the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them to achieve common interests.
The meetings were attended by the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Algeria, Dr. Abdullah Al-Bussairy, and the Director General of the Minister’s Office, Abdulrahman Al-Dawood.
