Algerian Speaker Boughali Meets with Syrian Ambassador: Algeria Committed to Syria’s Sovereignty, Territorial Integrity

Algiers- Algeria, May 13, 2024 – Brahim Boughali, Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (APN), hosted Maher Annan Baddour, Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to Algeria, in a courtesy visit at the Assembly’s headquarters on Sunday, according to a statement from the lower house of Parliament.
During the visit, Boughali praised the historically privileged relations between Algeria and Syria, emphasizing the importance of further efforts to enhance them and strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in parliamentary and economic spheres. He reiterated Algeria’s unwavering commitment to Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, discussing pressing issues, such as the situation in occupied Palestinian territories and counterterrorism measures.
The Syrian ambassador expressed appreciation for the strong bilateral relations and fraternal ties between the two brotherly peoples. He commended Algeria’s steadfast support for Syria’s stability and territorial integrity under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Annan also acknowledged Algeria’s consistent positions, highlighting its role as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in advocating for just causes. He expressed confidence in Algeria’s upcoming promising stage.
