ALGIERS– Salah Goudjil, the Speaker of the Council of the Nation, asserted on Tuesday that Palestinian resisters are not terrorists but activists fighting for a legitimate right. Addressing the situation in Gaza during a plenary session dedicated to the adoption of two bills related to print, electronic press, and audiovisual activities, Goudjil emphasized that the media war accompanying the conflict in Palestine has exposed the malicious intentions of Western media.
Goudjil highlighted that the Palestinian people’s struggle has compelled the international community to acknowledge certain truths. He recalled that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune was the first to address the Palestinian cause during times of crises and conflicts in his speech at the United Nations, where he called for the recognition of Palestine as a full member of the institution.
Referring to historical parallels, Goudjil drew attention to the tactics employed against Algeria during the National Liberation Revolution against colonial enemies. He urged Palestinians to remain vigilant and not allow external forces to decide their future. Emphasizing the importance of authentic representation, Goudjil stated, “The Palestinian people must reject any mediation, and negotiations should take place with the true representatives of the Palestinians.”
Expressing pride in Algeria’s consistent and unwavering stance on the Palestinian cause, Goudjil reiterated that Algeria advocates for nothing more than the self-determination of peoples. He affirmed that the Algerian position remains steadfast in supporting the just rights of the Palestinian people.
