Algiers, Algeria | October 21st, 2024 — In a strategic move to bolster bilateral economic relations, Algeria’s Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, is set to lead a delegation of prominent Algerian businessmen on a working visit to Doha, the capital of Qatar. Accompanying him will be Kamel Moula, President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA). This visit, marking a significant milestone in the economic partnership between Algeria and Qatar, aims to deepen commercial ties and explore new avenues for cooperation.
As part of the visit, Minister Zitouni will inaugurate the inaugural exhibition of Algerian products in Qatar, designed to introduce Qatari consumers to a diverse range of high-quality Algerian goods. This exhibition represents a strategic initiative to enhance the visibility of Algerian products within the Qatari market, showcasing the unique attributes and quality that define Algerian craftsmanship and innovation.
The exhibition, organized by “Tassdir,” a subsidiary of the Safex Group, in collaboration with the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Qatari Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled to run from October 22 to 26. It will feature 150 Algerian companies across various sectors, presenting an impressive array of products including food items, industrial goods, and handicrafts, all celebrated for their distinctiveness and quality on the international stage.
In conjunction with the exhibition, Minister Zitouni will preside over the Algerian-Qatari Business Forum, a pivotal event aimed at enhancing collaboration among business leaders from both nations. The forum will serve as a platform for exploring investment opportunities and fostering partnerships across various sectors, facilitating dialogue through bilateral meetings (B2B) that encourage the exchange of ideas and initiatives.
Furthermore, the exhibition will offer direct sales opportunities, enabling Qatari consumers to purchase Algerian products straight from exhibiting companies. This initiative is expected to not only strengthen economic ties but also promote cultural exchange, paving the way for a more robust and mutually beneficial economic partnership between Algeria and Qatar.
Minister Zitouni emphasized the importance of this visit, stating, “This exhibition and business forum represent a significant step towards enhancing trade relations and showcasing the potential of Algerian products. Our goal is to create lasting partnerships that benefit both our economies.”
As Algeria continues to diversify its economy and expand its reach into international markets, this visit to Qatar stands as a testament to the country’s commitment to fostering economic cooperation and promoting Algerian goods on a global scale.
