Hanoi, Vietnam – October 18, 2023: The 12th session of the Algerian-Vietnamese Joint Commission concluded in Hanoi, Vietnam, with a momentous development as a memorandum of understanding was inked, fostering collaboration in the pharmaceutical industry.
The official signing ceremony took place between the Saidal pharmaceutical group from Algeria and the Vietnamese Research Institute, a renowned institution specializing in the production of pharmaceutical products derived from medicinal plants.
The signing of this memorandum marks a significant milestone in the evolving relationship between Algeria and Vietnam. With a focus on mutual economic growth and strengthened trade connections, the two nations have embarked on a journey of deeper cooperation.
In the wake of the successful joint commission session, Mr. Ali Aoun, the Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, was received by the President of the Vietnamese National Assembly, Vuong Dinh Hue. The meeting between the two distinguished leaders was marked by discussions concerning various facets of bilateral cooperation and the avenues for its expansion.
Both nations acknowledged the strategic significance of their geographic locations, which can serve as gateways to two distinct continents. Vietnam, often referred to as the “gateway to Asia,” opens up incredible opportunities for Algerian access to Asian markets. Similarly, Algeria, as the “gateway to Africa,” holds immense potential for Vietnam to penetrate African markets.
During the meeting, President Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized the exceptional quality of diplomatic and parliamentary relations between the two countries. He stressed the necessity for further efforts to solidify economic ties, enhance trade interactions, and boost foreign investments.
In a remarkable development, President Hue expressed Vietnam’s desire to import Algerian products. To materialize this aspiration, he proposed organizing a visit to Algeria, which would facilitate direct interaction between Algerian and Vietnamese business leaders. Additionally, he suggested the establishment of an investment and trade forum that would serve as a platform for discussions and collaborations between the two nations’ entrepreneurs.
As the Algerian-Vietnamese partnership strengthens its foothold, the signing of this memorandum of understanding in the pharmaceutical industry exemplifies the potential for enhanced economic and trade relations between the two nations. With mutual interests and a shared vision, Algeria and Vietnam are poised to unlock new possibilities for collaboration and prosperity.
