Algerian Youth Council Engages in Third Sino-Arab Forum for Young Politicians

Algiers, Algeria | November 29th, 2024 — The Algerian Youth Council (CSJ) is actively participating in the third session of the Sino-Arab Forum for Young Politicians, held from November 27 to December 5 in Zhuhai, China. This event, organized by the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, brings together young political leaders from across the Arab world and China to foster mutual understanding and address global challenges.

Representing the CSJ are Ms. Manel Ghaoui, a member of the Citizenship, Volunteering, and Associative Movement Commission, and Mr. Sofiane Tazir, a member of the Education, Training, Higher Education, and Capacity-Building Commission. Their participation underscores Algeria’s commitment to youth empowerment and global solidarity.

Advocating for Shared Values and Cooperation

During a session titled “Initiative for Universal Civilization and Human-Cultural Exchanges between China and Arab Nations,” Ms. Ghaoui highlighted the historical depth of Sino-Arab relations, rooted in centuries of exceptional civilizational coexistence. She called for enhanced dialogue between peoples, joint technological initiatives targeting youth, and the promotion of shared human values through international media platforms to build a more peaceful and tolerant world.

Ms. Ghaoui reaffirmed Algeria’s unwavering stance on international justice, emphasizing the country’s support for the Palestinian people’s right to an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital and the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.

In a separate session on the “Situation in the Middle East and China’s Role,” Mr. Tazir shed light on Algeria’s robust youth policies under President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, showcasing the CSJ as a pioneering model for youth empowerment across diverse sectors. He lauded the exceptional relations between Algeria and China, particularly China’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, and reiterated Algeria’s enduring commitment to global justice, particularly during its tenure as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.

Youth Diplomacy for Shared Challenges

Mr. Tazir underscored the necessity of activating youth diplomacy through platforms for young diplomats to exchange ideas, address shared challenges, and propose solutions for common concerns between nations. He concluded by emphasizing that sustainable peace in the Middle East hinges on the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

During the forum’s opening session, the Algerian delegation met with Mr. Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China. The event also includes visits to key economic hubs in China and bilateral meetings between CSJ representatives and young leaders from participating countries, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering collaboration and mutual understanding.
