Algeria’s Digital Leap: A New Era in Property Management with the Launch of the National Internet Network

Algiers, Algeria | December 15th, 2024 — Algeria has taken a significant step toward digital modernization with the launch of the new internet network for the Directorate General of National Property. Announced by the Minister of Finance, Laaziz Faid, the new service aims to revolutionize the property sector by allowing citizens and professionals to access essential real estate services with just a click.

The launch of this cutting-edge platform is part of Algeria’s broader strategy to digitize key government services, enhancing efficiency and security. The newly integrated system allows for real-time data sharing between various government departments, ensuring safe and instantaneous data exchange across the country. The platform, developed by Algeria Telecom under SD WAN technology, will link 587 government offices nationwide, making it easier for property professionals and citizens alike to access critical property documents such as property titles and contracts.

According to Minister Faid, the digital services provided through this platform will offer high-quality solutions to the public. The online portal, “Espace Algérie,” enables users to extract various documents related to real estate, including property books and contracts, while ensuring the safe exchange of data between institutions. This advancement is part of a larger national effort to achieve comprehensive digitization across all sectors.

The project also involves upgrading the national fiber optic network to connect all the facilities under the Directorate General of National Property to the central data center at the Ministry of Finance. This will ensure efficient and secure communication and data flow, reinforcing the importance of modernizing public sector infrastructure to support the country’s growth.

Minister Faid emphasized that this project, which began in June 2023, is a direct response to the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who has repeatedly called for a swift digital transformation of Algeria’s administrative services. He noted that the creation of national cadastral and property databases, which now contain data for over 19 million property records, is a key milestone in this ongoing effort.

With this new digital infrastructure in place, Algeria is taking a major leap forward in managing its national assets, setting the stage for future innovations in government service delivery.
