Algeria’s Enduring Support Recognized by Malian Imam Mahmoud Dicko

ALGIERS- In a meeting with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Tuesday, Imam Mahmoud Dicko, a highly influential religious leader from Mali and head of the Kountiya Brotherhood, conveyed a message of gratitude to Algeria for its unwavering support to his country.
Following the audience granted by President Tebboune, Mr. Dicko stated that Algeria and Mali are “more than neighbors; they form an indivisible whole.”
Expressing appreciation to Algeria “for its support to Mali throughout various stages and crises,” the Imam of the Kountiya Brotherhood expressed his hope to see Mali “overcome the challenges it faces and witness the realization of reconciliation and peaceful coexistence among the peoples of the Sahel region.”
During the meeting, Mr. Dicko expressed his pride in being in Algeria, a “land of martyrs and people passionate about freedom.” He extended his thanks to President Tebboune for the warm welcome and hospitality he received.
The acknowledgment from Imam Mahmoud Dicko underscores the profound ties between Algeria and Mali, emphasizing not only their status as neighboring nations but as interconnected entities with shared history, culture, and geopolitical interests.
