“Algeria’s Energy Diplomacy Takes Center Stage at 7th GECF Summit,” Says Hichem Benhaddad

In an exclusive interview with the electronic channel Dzair Tube, the deputy Hichem Benhaddad highlighted the significant role of energy diplomacy in shaping Algeria’s foreign policy under the visionary leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. “The country’s diplomatic prowess has recently been revitalized, thanks to prudent and weighty leadership strategies aimed at leveraging energy as a key diplomatic tool,” he stated.
And to add, “Algeria’s commitment to energy diplomacy is prominently displayed through its hosting of the Gas Forum, a three-day event showcasing the nation’s diplomatic acumen and leadership in the energy sector. As a fundamental pillar of global energy transition and security, energy diplomacy plays a crucial role in ensuring stability and cooperation among nations.”
The deputy emphasized Algeria’s role as a reliable partner to European countries, despite differences in positions and orientations. “Hosting the Gas Forum provides an opportunity for significant advancements in cooperation,” he stressed, reaffirming Algeria’s prominence and reliability as a strategic partner in the global energy landscape.
He went further to say, “Against the backdrop of conflicts in various regions, including the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and Ukraine, Algeria’s stance must remain clear, with expectations for effective outcomes and strong recommendations to address geopolitical tensions.”
In this vein, the deputy called for decisive decisions leading to the creation of new policies and strategies for gas-exporting countries to tackle future challenges effectively.
