Algeria’s Energy Minister Arkab Hosts SLB Vice President: Advancing Cooperation in Hydrocarbons and Beyond

Algiers, Algeria | August 5th, 2024 — On Monday, Mohamed Arkab, Algeria’s Minister of Energy and Mines, hosted Abdallah Mourad, Vice President of SLB (formerly Schlumberger), at a meeting in Algiers. The session, attended by key figures including the President of the National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT) and senior officials from both parties, was dedicated to advancing cooperation and exploring new opportunities across multiple sectors.

A significant aspect of the dialogue centered on investment opportunities aimed at reducing emissions, minimizing the carbon footprint, and improving overall efficiency within the oil and gas sector. Furthermore, the conversation extended into the realm of new and renewable energies, with particular emphasis on hydrogen development as a key area for future growth.
