ALGIERS- Zouhir Nasri, President of the Health, Labor, Vocational Training, and Social Affairs Committee of the People’s National Assembly (APN), presented Algeria’s experience in health and population protection in Oslo, Norway, on Thursday. He emphasized that it is based on an integrated strategy linking various sectors, according to a statement from the APN.

During his participation in the 8th International Conference of Parliamentarians on the Implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (IPCI/CIPD), Mr. Nasri presented “Algeria’s experience in health, population, and human rights protection,” stressing that “it is based on an integrated strategy, linking different sectors to achieve the objectives enshrined in the 2020 Constitution, particularly in terms of equality among citizens in rights and obligations.”

In this regard, he discussed “women’s rights, especially in political, socio-professional, and health domains,” emphasizing that “Algeria, under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, is determined to achieve economic progress after completing institutional building.”

The same speaker also affirmed that “Algeria’s achievements within the framework of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals in education, gender equality, and child health have benefited from legal support and accompaniment to preserve family sustainability away from approaches undermining the values related to its cohesion.”

Additionally, Mr. Nasri addressed the sufferings of children and women in Palestine, condemning “the genocidal war waged by the occupying entity against the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip.”

In this context, the same official asserted that it no longer makes sense to talk about sustainable development because “the world has abandoned its humanity and has proven powerless to protect children and pregnant women targeted by the Zionist occupation.”
