Algiers, Algeria | August 30th, 2024 — On Friday, Ahmed Attaf, Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, arrived in Slovenia for a significant diplomatic visit. Following instructions from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Attaf was warmly received by Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob.

The meeting, held in the Slovenian capital, provided an important opportunity to review and advance the “fruitful discussions” that took place in Algeria in May between Slovenian Prime Minister Golob and President Tebboune. According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, this encounter was pivotal in ensuring the successful implementation of the agreements and collaborative initiatives discussed during the earlier bilateral talks.

During his visit, Ahmed Attaf will co-preside alongside Tanja Fajon, Slovenia’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, over the inauguration ceremony of Algeria’s new embassy in Ljubljana. The establishment of this diplomatic mission marks a significant milestone in the strengthening of relations between Algeria and Slovenia, following the opening of the Slovenian Embassy in Algiers earlier this year, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Golob.

The new Algerian embassy in Slovenia is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing bilateral cooperation and fostering deeper connections between the two nations. This diplomatic development reflects the commitment of both countries to fortify their diplomatic ties and explore new avenues for collaboration.
