Algeria’s General Saïd Chanegriha Receives Director General of Russia’s Rosoboronexport

Algiers, Algeria | September 11th, 2024 —  In a significant move underscoring the deepening defense ties between Algeria and Russia, General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), held a meeting with Aleksander Mikheev, Director General of Rosoboronexport, the Russian state arms exporter, on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. The high-level talks, which took place at the ANP General Staff headquarters in Algiers, were attended by top military officials from both nations, highlighting the increasing scope of their military and technical collaboration.

The meeting, as announced by the Ministry of National Defense (MDN), brought together senior figures, including Major Generals and Generals from the MDN and ANP, as well as a Russian delegation. This strategic audience further cements the long-standing partnership between Algeria and Russia, focusing on strengthening Algeria’s defense capabilities through advanced military cooperation.
