Algeria’s Humanitarian Aid to Gaza Applauded by Hamas Representative

ALGIERS- In a statement provided to La Patrie News, Dr. Youcef Abu Bakr, the representative of the Hamas movement in Algeria, expressed his sincere gratitude to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for his decisive action in sending substantial and urgently needed humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. This gesture has been seen as a testament to Algeria’s progressive stance in advocating for Palestinian rights and standing in solidarity with those exposed to the horrors of war in the battle to protect Al-Qods and Al-Aqsa.
Dr. Youcef Abu Bakr emphasized the importance of this humanitarian and fraternal initiative, highlighting Algeria’s pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian cause. He remarked, “We appreciate this humanitarian and brotherly gesture, which once again underscores Algeria’s avant-garde position in defending Palestinian rights and standing by a people exposed to the crimes of war in their struggle to safeguard Al-Qods and Al-Aqsa.”
He further added, “Algeria’s timely response comes at a moment when our people in Gaza are awaiting urgent assistance from our Arab and Islamic brethren, particularly in terms of civil defense teams to aid in relief operations and provide essential assistance to the tens of thousands of martyrs.”
Dr. Youcef Abu Bakr also pointed out the dire conditions in Gaza’s hospitals, which are overwhelmed with thousands of injured individuals, indicating an impending humanitarian catastrophe. He went on to state, “We also appreciate Algeria’s prudent political stance in not participating in the Peace Summit in Egypt, especially at a time when our people are being massacred in full view of the world. We consider any summit or position that equates the victim with the oppressor and does not support the Palestinian people’s right to self-defense by all means as a political diversion that grants the occupation more time to shed Palestinian blood.”
The accuracy and relevance of Algeria’s position in this matter deserve recognition and praise. It is inconceivable for any Arab, Muslim, or peace-loving global citizen to turn a blind eye to Israel’s actions. Any constructive dialogue must commence with the acknowledgment that Hamas, as the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, is acting in self-defense and is by no means a terrorist organization.
It is worth noting that Algeria, under the guidance of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has taken swift action by dispatching significant humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip through a coordinated airlift involving multiple aircraft from the National People’s Army Air Force. This aid comprises essential food and medical supplies, clothing, and tents. The move signifies Algeria’s unwavering commitment to offering unconditional and limitless solidarity to their Palestinian brethren, who continue to suffer under ongoing aggression, particularly in the Gaza Strip, as a result of a harsh and unjust blockade.
