Algeria’s Maritime Transport-Car Ferry Moby Dada: ENTMV Announces Postponement of Sailings

Algiers, Algeria | July 30th, 2024 — The National Passenger Maritime Transport Company (ENTMV) has announced the postponement of sailings for the car ferry Moby Dada to later dates. This decision, communicated to passengers on Monday, stems from recurring issues with the vessel’s air conditioning system and slow maintenance processes carried out by the ship’s operator.

“The ENTmv regrets to inform its valued customers that, due to reasons beyond our control, the sailings of the chartered car ferry Moby Dada are postponed to future dates,” stated the company. “These delays are attributed to repeated malfunctions in the air conditioning system and the slow pace of maintenance operations by the ship’s operator, which negatively affects passenger comfort, especially during the current period of high temperatures.”

Passengers holding tickets for the Moby Dada are advised to refrain from traveling to the ports of embarkation until further information is provided. ENTMV has committed to updating customers with necessary details in a timely manner, respecting their right to information.

In response to the disruptions, ENTmv has scheduled a special crossing today, Tuesday, at 21:00, to accommodate passengers with reservations on the Alicante-Algiers sailing of July 27 and the Alicante-Oran service planned for yesterday. This special voyage will be operated by the car ferry Badji Mokhtar III.
