Algiers, Algeria | November 21st, 2024 — In a bold move to address unemployment and stimulate the Algerian economy, Bilal Achacha, the Director General of the National Agency for the Support and Development of Entrepreneurship (ANADE), has unveiled plans to establish 12,000 sustainable micro-enterprises by 2025. The ambitious target, outlined during his appearance on the “Guest of the Morning” program on the First Radio Channel, reflects the agency’s broader vision to create a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem driven by youth and small businesses.

Speaking to the public, Achacha emphasized that ANADE is committed to launching a comprehensive economic strategy aimed at providing significant support to young entrepreneurs, while ensuring the sustainability of micro-enterprises. This initiative comes as part of the government’s efforts to integrate entrepreneurship into national policy frameworks and to rectify the shortcomings faced by the sector in the past.

As part of the new strategy, Achacha highlighted the agency’s focus on diversifying financing sources for micro-enterprises. This includes offering both operational and investment loans in collaboration with banks and providing risk coverage through insurance companies. This multifaceted financing approach is designed to create a more accessible and varied financial environment for aspiring entrepreneurs, with an added layer of support in the form of training and advisory services provided by ANADE.

Furthermore, the Director General revealed that the agency aims to foster over 600 new micro-enterprises for vocational training graduates. To date, more than 7,000 applications are under review for the creation of new businesses, with an additional 1,000 projects focused on expanding existing businesses. Achacha stressed that, in addition to funding, training remains a critical element in ensuring the success of these ventures.

ANADE has already taken concrete steps to promote entrepreneurial education by establishing 117 entrepreneurship development centers across Algerian universities. Furthermore, the agency is working on the creation of 190 additional centers within vocational training institutions to expand its reach. As part of its rapid implementation of these programs, 5,300 university graduates have already been trained, with expectations of a substantial increase in vocational training participation in the coming months. Additionally, 700 professionals specializing in project analysis, evaluation, and funding are being trained to better support new enterprises.

In line with global trends, ANADE is also participating in the “Global Entrepreneurship Week” under the theme “Entrepreneurship for All,” which underscores the agency’s commitment to fostering inclusive entrepreneurship. Achacha emphasized that ANADE’s programs are open to a wide range of participants, including university students, vocational training graduates, the unemployed, and those with registered businesses. The agency’s core objectives revolve around providing robust support, promoting entrepreneurial culture, and nurturing innovation among young people in Algeria.

With such a forward-thinking approach, ANADE’s strategy is set to significantly impact Algeria’s economic landscape, particularly by empowering the younger generation to become active players in the country’s growth. By providing the necessary tools, education, and financial backing, ANADE aims to create a dynamic and resilient entrepreneurial ecosystem capable of meeting the challenges of the 21st century.
