Algiers, Algeria | July 16th, 2024 — In celebration of National Children’s Day on July 15, Ooredoo, the mobile phone operator, reinforced its dedication to corporate social responsibility by launching a series of initiatives designed to bring joy and happiness to children.
According to a statement from Ooredoo, the company has consistently supported various community segments through numerous initiatives, with a particular focus on children. As part of these efforts, Ooredoo organized multiple activities and made financial contributions to associations supporting children with special needs.
In recognition of the dual significance of Independence Day and Youth Day, Ooredoo arranged a special event under the auspices of the National Authority for the Promotion and Protection of Childhood, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. This celebration, themed “Children of Today, Elites of Tomorrow,” took place on July 15 at the Mohamed Boudiaf Olympic Complex.
Additionally, Ooredoo sent SMS messages to its customers on behalf of the National Authority for the Promotion and Protection of Childhood, wishing all children a happy National Children’s Day.
Ooredoo also marked International Children’s Day on June 1 by organizing an educational and recreational day in partnership with the National Association for Voluntary Work. This event targeted children with special needs, orphans, and the children of Ooredoo employees.
Furthermore, in collaboration with the National Authority for the Promotion of Health and Development Research (FOREM) and the National Authority for the Promotion and Protection of Childhood, Ooredoo conducted a gift distribution event for students at a primary school in Ain Bousif, Médéa province. This initiative honored classmates who were victims of the Sablata Park tragedy.
In addition, Ooredoo provided a financial donation to FOREM to purchase sacrificial animals for underprivileged families and orphans, enabling them to participate in the Eid al-Adha ritual and enjoy the celebrations.
These initiatives underscore Ooredoo’s ongoing commitment to supporting children’s welfare and fostering community spirit through meaningful and impactful actions.
