ALGIERS- In a press release issued this Friday morning, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) announced the launch of an investigation in response to the unauthorized participation of a team representing Algeria in the Mini-Football World Cup, currently taking place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to the official statement released by the national football governing body, the team in question consists of former players from the Algerian national football team and has not obtained any authorization from the FAF. The press release states, “This team is not registered within the FAF’s official framework and does not represent it. No permission has been granted for the participation of any selection representing Algeria in this competition across all categories.”

The FAF further emphasizes that an investigation will be launched to address this matter promptly. The press release states, “The FAF deeply regrets such behavior, which tarnishes the image of Algeria. Consequently, it is imperative to take the necessary measures to thoroughly investigate this issue.”
