Algeria’s Presidential Elections- Bengrina Pays Tribute to Algerian Army: Calls for a United Front in Elections

Algiers, Algeria | August 21st, 2024 — Abdelkader Bengrina, leader of the El-Bina Movement, called on Algerians to vote in large numbers on September 7, warning that national stability is at stake. Addressing a rally at the Timimoun Cultural Center on Wednesday, Bengrina emphasized that one of the key objectives of the current electoral campaign is to fortify Algeria’s internal unity, particularly in the face of external threats.

A Call for National Unity

Bengrina underscored the importance of forming a united front to counter “vile schemes” orchestrated by Algeria’s Western neighbor, referring to ongoing disinformation campaigns. He revealed that 37% of the social media accounts involved in anti-Algerian activities are connected to the Makhzen’s intelligence services. In this context, Bengrina praised the vigilance of the People’s National Army (ANP), crediting the military for safeguarding Algeria’s sovereignty and contributing to the establishment of a new Algeria defined by security and stability. He highlighted that the military’s dedication is rooted in its loyalty to the legacy of the martyrs of the Revolution and its commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the Algerian people.

Bengrina further praised the military’s high level of awareness and its indispensable role in securing the future of Algeria. Echoing the sentiments of independent candidate Abdelmadjid Tebboune, he stressed the importance of preserving the heritage of the martyrs of the November Revolution.

Foreign Policy Commitments

On foreign policy, Bengrina reiterated Tebboune’s recent commitments to promoting regional stability. He affirmed Algeria’s steadfast dedication to its principles, particularly its unwavering support for the Palestinian and Sahrawi causes, regardless of the challenges faced.
