Algeria’s Presidential Elections: Sawt Ech-Chaâb, FLN Emphasize President Tebboune’s 54 Commitments in Tizi Ouzou

Algiers, Algeria | August 20th, 2024 — The electoral campaign in Tizi Ouzou is in full swing, with representatives of the three candidates for the presidency actively engaging voters across the region. On Monday, August 19, the representatives of the incumbent president, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, visited multiple communes, including the provincial capital, to present his program and urge voters to participate en masse.

At the heart of the provincial capital, in the packed auditorium of the Culture House, Abdelkrim Benmbarek, Secretary General of the National Liberation Front (FLN), held a rally. During his address, Benmbarek highlighted President Tebboune’s accomplishments during his first term, emphasizing the 54 commitments he made upon his election in 2019. He stressed that many of these promises have already been fulfilled, while the remainder is actively underway.

Benmbarek further called on voters to seize this opportunity, stating that Algeria “becomes more prosperous and stronger day by day” and is solidifying its status as an influential force both regionally and globally. His message was echoed across different communes, including Aïn El Hammam in the Djurdjura heights and Boudjima along the coast, where representatives of Sawt Ech-Chaâb held rallies. They reinforced the achievements of President Tebboune’s first mandate, anchored in his 54 key commitments.

The electoral campaign in Tizi Ouzou is supported by a robust infrastructure, with the province mobilizing a wide range of facilities to ensure a fair and equitable campaign for all candidates. From cultural centers like Mouloud-Mammeri House of Culture to regional theatres, scientific centers, sports halls, and public squares, the province has spared no effort in providing ample space for campaigning activities. This ensures that all three candidates have equal access to engage with the electorate across Tizi Ouzou.
