Algeria’s Presidential Elections- Tebboune Ensures Regional Balance, Progress: Bengrina Highlights Achievements, Future Goals

Algiers, Algeria | August 19th, 2024 — On the fifth day of his electoral campaign, Abdelkader Bengrina, leader of El-Bina party, visited Khenchela and Bordj Bou Arreridj, emphasizing the strides made under President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s leadership. Bengrina’s visit comes as part of his campaign to highlight the achievements of Tebboune’s administration and rally support for the incumbent president.

In his speech to the residents of Khenchela, Bengrina underscored Tebboune’s dedication to regional balance, particularly through equitable distribution of development projects. He noted that the president’s focus on regional development has been a cornerstone of his administration, citing Khenchela as a prime example of this commitment.

Advancing Algeria’s New Era

Bengrina urged voters to support President Tebboune in the upcoming election to ensure the continuation of recent national progress. He highlighted the significance of Tebboune’s decision to hold a government meeting outside the capital for the first time in Algeria’s political history. This meeting, which took place in Khenchela, was dedicated to outlining a roadmap for the implementation of a supplementary development program tailored to the needs of the region.

On the social front, Bengrina emphasized that re-electing Tebboune would allow the government to continue advancing Algeria’s new era with assured steps. He stressed the importance of improving citizens’ purchasing power, supporting vulnerable groups, and ensuring that state aid reaches those who genuinely need it.

Bengrina also reviewed major projects achieved during Tebboune’s tenure. He mentioned the development of various vital infrastructure projects, including mining operations in the southwestern and eastern parts of the country, ports in the east and central regions, an agricultural hub in Adrar, and railway lines in Khenchela and Béchar. He reminded the audience of the recent visit by President Tebboune to Khenchela, which included the inauguration and inspection of several critical projects aimed at boosting regional development.

In his address, Bengrina also referenced Algeria’s commemoration of the dual anniversary of August 20, marking the 1955 Northern Constantinois Offensive and the 1956 Soummam Congress. He noted that this dual anniversary represents key milestones in the nation’s struggle for sovereignty and independence. “Algeria, proud of its historical achievements and loyal to its martyrs and the November Message, commemorates this significant day as the country, with its constitutional institutions, enters a phase where the contours of a confident future are taking shape,” Bengrina stated.

The day concluded with Bengrina addressing supporters in Bordj Bou Arreridj before continuing his campaign in Algiers and Boumerdès. His remarks reinforce a vision of continued progress and stability under President Tebboune’s leadership, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the momentum of Algeria’s development and honoring its historical legacy.
