During the forum, Mohamed Arkab, Algeria’s Minister of Energy and Mines, delivered a virtual address outlining the country’s ambitious strategy for hydrogen development. He emphasized Algeria’s abundant renewable energy resources and its geographical advantages, which position the nation as a critical partner for supplying clean hydrogen to European markets.
Arkab reiterated Algeria’s aspirations to become a pioneer in green hydrogen production, leveraging its renewable energy capabilities and strategic proximity to Europe.

The European Hydrogen Week, running until November 22, is the premier annual event for hydrogen technologies, featuring over 200 speakers and more than 25 panel discussions. These sessions focus on advancements in hydrogen production, technical innovations, and the sector’s future prospects.
This year’s edition highlights hydrogen’s vital role in the global energy transition and its potential to decarbonize various industries while addressing the challenges associated with reducing carbon emissions.
