Algiers- Algeria, May 10, 2024 – Mr. Karim Bibi Triki, the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, announced on Thursday that Algérie Poste plans to install 1,000 new Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) across the country.
Speaking during the Council of the Nation’s session for oral questions, the minister revealed that Algérie Poste is currently in the process of tendering for the supply of over 1,000 new ATMs.
He highlighted that the ATM network has grown significantly by 42% over the past two years, compared to just 1,400 machines in 2020.
Furthermore, Mr. Bibi Triki shared that approximately 13 million citizens in Algeria already possess a magnetic card, enabling them to conduct various commercial and administrative transactions as well as pay bills.
This expansion of Algérie Poste’s ATM network is a part of the government’s ongoing efforts to modernize and improve the efficiency of financial services nationwide.
