Algiers International Fair 2024: Pakistan’s Strong Participation Unveils New Trade, Investment Horizons

Algiers, Algeria | July 8th, 2024 — The 55th Edition of the Algiers International Fair, held from June 24 to 29, featured significant participation from Pakistan, opening new avenues for trade and investment between the two nations. According to the Algerian Embassy in Islamabad, a delegation of 30 prominent Pakistani businessmen, sponsored by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), attended the fair. Key Pakistani products showcased included surgical instruments, textiles, sports articles, cosmetics, motorbike tires and tubes, safety gloves and wear, and electronics.
Algerian-Pakistani Business Forum
The Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI) organized the Algerian-Pakistani Business Forum, focusing on exploring trade and investment opportunities to enhance economic cooperation between Algeria and Pakistan. Representatives from CACI, the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), and the National Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (ALGEX) presented Algeria’s business and investment framework. They emphasized the benefits and guarantees provided by Algeria’s new investment law of 2022 and reviewed the current state of bilateral trade exchanges.
Strategic Market Access
CACI President Kamal Hamni underscored Algeria’s readiness to facilitate Pakistani investors’ entry into African markets through the African Free Trade Zone and the Arab Free Trade Zone. This strategic access highlights the importance of these trade networks in strengthening economic ties and expanding market opportunities for Pakistani businesses.
